Inlays and Onlays
If you have a cavity or have lost more tooth structure than a filling can restore, you likely need an inlay or and onlay. After your tooth is prepared, these lab made restorations are cemented or bonded into place.
Inlays can be made of porcelain, gold or composite resins. Porcelain and composite inlays and onlays are cosmetic alternatives to fillings. Because the process of making an inlay or onlay is similar to making a crown, the cost is comparable. But when you consider their longevity, they can end up costing less than traditional fillings and crowns.
